These hoop earrings are made with recycled glass beads coming from Ghana, in lemon yellow, papaya orange, soft aquamarine blue and deep lapis lazuli blue. I tried to capture the colors as best as I could but in real life, they are even more beautiful!
The beads are made by the Krobo people who crash glass to fine powder, heat it to fuse it and poured into clay molds to create the beads. A technique that has been used since the antiquity. They come from the trade fair, helping their community to developpe.
The hoop is made in brass and bathed in 1 micron of 24k gold or palladium (it is a platinum group metal, it has a premium white color (silver color) that will not fade. It is nickel free, hypoallergenic, tarnish resistant and more durable than white gold) .
