Made in brass and bathed in 1 micron of 24k gold or 3 microns of palladium (silver color). Palladium is now the most valuable of the four major precious metals, It is a platinum group metal, it has a premium white color that will not fade. It is nickel free, hypoallergenic, tarnish resistant and more durable than white gold. It has the look of platinum, and comparable cost to gold.

These little engraved scarabs are Cherry Brand Glass and the story behind is fascinating. In 1945, the year that WWII finally ended, Japan (ocuppied by the US) was in need to reconstruct their country and economy. Small artisan glassmakers in Osaka were asked by american jewelers to produce what they have been centuries mastering: glass beads. They were all independent artisans but they informally band together and sell their products under the name Cherry Brand. This lasted from 1945 to 1952 and helped a lot to improved their lives. I make the bezel open to let see the marks made on the back. Lot of people will say that they are hieroglyphics but, if you know a little bit about them, these marks are nothing quite like them. Actually, they resemble more to Chinese or Japanese kanji, and considering they come from Japan, that could be a reasonable explanation, but I can't really confirm that.
All my jewels are made trying to be as light and confortable to wear as possible. Also note that jewels are not identical due to their totally made by hand origin. And that's why it can take up to 15 days to ship, because I'm making them especially for you (that means also that can be customized ;) )
